AIRF Announcement
African Immigrant and Refugee Statement on Recent 2017 U.S. Immigration Policy
Over the past week, events have transpired in the US that have shaken many in our community to the core. The African Immigrant and Refugee Foundation (AIRF) understands the challenges of navigating the new regulations and extends its full support to those effected by the recent policy. AIRF is here to help anyone affected by providing refugee/asylum referral services, advice, and any other related support. If you need assistance in any of these areas, please click here.
While we understand the confusion and uncertainty, AIRF encourages African immigrants in the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) metro area to remain calm and seek help from qualified immigrant organizations, agencies and human rights organizations like AIRF. Please also take a moment to educate yourself on the new policy and reach out to family and friends to ensure they understand their rights and how the policy affects them. Undoubtedly, this is a difficult time for many, but we believe that the love, support and brotherhood of our friends, family, neighbors, and constituents will prevail. AIRF is here to help.
